IN THE COVER: Like many disasters, Santa Barbara’s Tea Fire left a hopscotched pattern of destruction and mercy in its wake. These two members of the Mountain Drive Volunteer Fire Department (below) are part of a larger network of people who worked tirelessly to save homes and property, and although much was lost, there is still much to be grateful for.
