With all of those fireworks leftover from the cancelled Fourth of July festivities-which, this year, were overshadowed by the Gap Fire-the City of Goleta will be presenting a fireworks display on Labor Day. The show is set to take place on Monday, September 1, from 8 until 8:30 p.m. at Girsh Park in Goleta. Since the Rotary Clubs of Goleta had sponsored the Independence Day celebration, they rescheduled the cancelled event for Labor Day, to run from 4 until 8:30 p.m.
The event is dedicated to the firefighters and other first responders who were so crucial during the Gap Fire. Goleta authorities remind pet owners to make sure their pets are safe and secure prior to the fireworks display, as pets have a tendency to become spooked from the noise.
