Where: 801 Shoreline Dr., 805-568-0064
What: Thanks to owner Steve Marsh, for more than 11 years Santa Barbarans have been able to enjoy everything from fresh ahi to burgers to omelets with their feet in the sand.
How much? Around $10 for lunch, up to about $15 for dinner. Specialty cocktails range from $7 to $12.
The dish: Shoreline offers something to fulfill all palates while maintaining plates that are “fresh and clean” – all sauces and salsas are freshly made, no microwave exists on the premises, and frying occurs in zero trans-fat oil. Throughout daylight savings time, Shoreline is practically open from sunup to sundown, and for breakfast and lunch year round. Start your day right with its unique Orange Juice Blueberry pancakes or the Chorizo Scramble. Later at any time of day be sure to order the Baja Shrimp Tacos (if you like them spicy, ask for the chipotle mayo), though the Spicy Seared Ahi perhaps their most acclaimed dish cannot be passed up; the fish features an Asian-inspired glaze with cabbage and carrot slaw, atop sticky rice. For something both fresh and hearty, be sure to pull up a chair (or barstool) at Shoreline.
