Taste of the Nation

Fighting Childhood Hunger

Fri Apr 11, 2008 | 04:42pm

It’s not every day that you can feast and help stop kids from being hungry. But that’s the very premise of Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation, a 20-year-old event that has raised more than $70 million.

Taste of the Nation will be holding its first Santa Barbara fete on Saturday, April 27, at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum. Every cent of the ticket sales go to programs that fight childhood hunger. Doing good never tasted this good, though, as over 20 of the areas best restaurants and food purveyors (from Square One to Quantum Kitchen and Cocktails to Chocolates du Calibressan) team up with brilliant beverages (from Beckmen Wine to Hollister Brewing Company to Ethan Wines). The Palm (John Palmentari) himself will be the celebrity emcee.

And if you want to give a bit more, buy a VIP ticket, which gives you extra time to nosh and nip, plus a goody bag, valet parking, and more. Buy those tickets online now at taste.strength.org
