Counselor in Training (S.B.)

The S.B. Family YMCA’s CITs are volunteers, work with a counselor, and are responsible for the care, planning, and delivery of all programs for campers ages 5-14 at YMCA summer day camps. Maturity, enthusiasm, communication, decision-making skills, responsibility, and an outgoing personality are encouraged. CITs receive CPR/first-aid training and certificates. Grades 8-11. Culinary Crash Course

Lifeguard Training

S.B. Channels Student Video Production Workshop

Learn fundamentals of broadcast television, camera operation, lighting, production, and broadcast. Small, professionally mentored teams develop, shoot, and prepare for broadcast their own short productions. Certification in field camera operation and studio production enable students to create their own productions in the future to be aired at the Santa Barbara Channels. S.B. YMCA Leadership Camp

Designed for children entering Junior High. Summer Late Nights 2008

The city’s Teen Programs brings you the summer-long party that never ends. Sign up for trips to Southern California’s best theme parks. All trips and events start and end at the Twelve35 Teen Center. Teen Adventure Caravan to S.F.

Teens will trek across the Golden Gate Bridge, visit Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier #39, experience a Ropes Course, ice skate on the 1960 Winter Olympics rink, and enjoy river rafting. Twelve35 Teen Center

Teens have access to XBOX 360, PS3, Wii, full DDR system, the Internet, Air Hockey, pool table, Foosball, free wi-fi, snack bar, and a recording studio. Weekly activities, classes, and special events are offered throughout the year. Community service opportunities available for teens and adults. Water Safety Instructor Course

Earn your certification to teach all levels of swimming to all ages. This 34-hour course is an opportunity to learn teaching techniques, stroke development, and swimming skills. F.I.T. training included. Must pass pre-test to participate.
