Dr. David Bearman has charged David Smyser, one of his opponents in the race for the 3rd District supervisor’s seat, with running a campaign substantially funded by donations from outside Santa Barbara County, including those from the owner of the Bacara, New York developer Alvin Dworman. Smyser’s campaign manager, Marlene King, responded that Smyser supports tourism and that Smyser has asked the Bacara to make future contributions as transparent as possible.
