The popular Santa Barbara International Film Festival “It Starts With the Script,” which features film writers discussing how they go about their craft, has been cancelled. According to a statement from festival publicist Carol Marshall, a number of the panelists pulled out due to bouts of the flu. The panel was to have featured Diablo Cody (Juno), Glen Gers (Disfigured, Fractured), Nancy Oliver (Lars And The Real Girl), Robert Eisele (The Great Debaters), and Bill Kelly (Enchanted). Nothing has been scheduled to replace it tomorrow at the Lobero Theater at 11 a.m. “We are confident that It Starts With The Script will continue again next year,” Marshall noted.
