The Santa Barbara Foodbank is asking for increased monetary donations and support for a Senate Farm Bill that would aid agencies that distribute food to the needy. The Santa Barbara Foodbank has reported a notable drop in its foodstuff stockpile that its officials attribute in part to a 30-40 percent decline in federal donations and subsidies. Consequently, the Foodbank must now pay for food formerly received for free.
