UCSB Scientist Discovers Life Between Layers of Mica

In a recent hypothesis, Helen Hansma, a UCSB research scientist and National Science Foundation program director, postulates that the very first biomolecules may have formed in the gaps between nanometer-thick layers of underwater mica.
