Michael Bennett replaced Jean Blois as the City of Goleta’s mayor on 12/3. Blois served for the past year in Goleta’s revolving mayoral system. Selected by his fellow councilmembers, a beaming Bennett noted that it has been 14 years since he was actually elected mayor, but that was during one of several elections in which voters rejected the creation of the city.
