Ann Detrick will take over as the new head of Santa Barbara County’s Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Services Department on 1/2/08. She is currently deputy commissioner for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, overseeing three state hospitals and services for more than 27,000 clients annually. She holds a doctorate in social psychology from the University of Massachusetts. Detrick replaces Dr. James Broderick, who retired in March.
