Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital hired Dr. Alois Zauner-one of the top neuroendovascular surgeons in the U.S.-to help develop a new neurovascular center at the hospital, increasing emphasis on neuroscience services there. Previously, Zauner directed the neuroendovascular services department at the University of Miami; he performs hundreds of endovascular and cranial surgeries each year.
