Juicers
Gotta Have Gadget
Summer’s here and the time is right for cocktails with fresh juice. There’s no better way to squeeze that lime, Meyer lemon, or orange than with an “all-metal clasp down on the ripe sucker” juicer. And I’m not being coy leaving out what company’s tool you should buy. Mine doesn’t even have a name brand on it; it’s just happy anonymously doing its job. Good kitchen supply stores will have them.
You cut the fruit in half, stick in a half at a time with the cut end facing the holes-yes, the indented side seems to match the open end of the fruit, but you want the liquid to pour freely. You’re actually pushing it inside out with a healthy crunch of your hand. You can even use the juice for recipes or breakfast if you don’t need a margarita or sidecar, but doesn’t everyone?
