In the wake of its recent decision to reunite the Santa Barbara Community Academy elementary school on the underutilized La Cumbre Junior High School campus, the Santa Barbara School Board voted to make interim academy Principal Amy Alzina the official leader of the newly rejoined K-6 school. With the school split for the past two years, Alzina had been serving as principal of the K-4 grades at their former East Ortega Street location.
