Sheriff’s Commission Looks Into Jail Overcrowding

A Blue Ribbon Commission on jail overcrowding met for the first time on 4/26, as part of Sheriff Bill Brown’s quest to solve the decade-long problem. The commission, which consists of numerous attorneys, city and county administrators, and community members, will meet twice a month for the next six months in an effort to hammer out strategies before addressing the county Board of Supervisors.
