The Santa Barbara County Vintners' Association Gives Direct Relief International $220,000

Last Wednesday, June 23, The Santa Barbara County Vintners' Foundation hosted a small shindig during which it presented Direct Relief International--a successful, nonprofit medical aid organization--a gigantic check worth $220,000.

The $220,000 donation will surely go a long way for the charity, who has managed to stretch the Foundation's previous $1.4 million dollars of donations into $33 million worth of medical supplies and aid.

The Foundation, which has donated $1.4 million to DRI to date, raised the money through its February auction, "The Vintners' Express: The American Riviera Wine Auction." Gathered at Buellton's Avant Wine and Tapas Bar, the Foundation, representatives from DRI, and friends celebrated the success of both the wine auction and the nonprofit, who will use the money to focus specifically on domestic projects.
