Perhaps time for Roger to take his oil and developer money and move to tea-party country in the 4th or 5th District- he will no longer be able to deceive the people of Goleta into thinking he actually cares about anything other than his and his donors self-interest.

So Matt Dies would rather take the word of a lying, remorseless drunk who left his daughter for dead in the road? Shame.

It is telling that neither his current or former colleagues have endorsed him. Even more peculiar he has NO endorsement page or supporters on his website or listed on his campaign fliers. His financial statement reads like a whos-who of huge development and north county oil bosses- the most curious candidacy Ive seen for a south coast politician of ANY party. ever. Sounds to me like the County Sheriffs know they blew it so their city brethren are making up for their error. Aceves wants 401Ks for public employees? does he plan to convert his OWN 3% at 50 City pension into a 401k?

for those interested in facts about when county pensions were raised - go to the 2004-05 Board of Supervisors archives . under the conservative Firestone-Gray Board, pensions were raised to the tune of millions per year-
here is a link to an actual board action

sad to see Roger Aceves pandering to such tea party, Rove-esque tactics in his vanity run for higher office. wonder if he knows (or cares) how many bridges he has forever burned.

well, Geeber, you must've been late in that game , cause
by the time that happened Wolf had already made her
position clear loudly at Board hearings. I'm sure if
you called the Clerks office at County they would
provide you those hearings.

the City of Goleta officials are acting and sounding like children throwing temper tantrums; last month they threw a fit about revenue neutrality, this month their attorney is threatening to sue the county before the public hearing/vote has even taken place on a project outside of their jurisdiction. They've been told by the State that they must pay back $18m in RDA $ that they paid themselves contrary to the legal parameters. who is running the show over there?

It is pathetic that Roger Aceves is hitching his wagon to people who spew the kind of bitter venomous slander reflected in some of the comments on this page. Then again, a public official who refers to someone as "turbanhead" cant be expected to attract a very nice set of supporters.

wow these comments (with the exception of Greg Mohr) tell me that tea partied proponents of this ill-advised stunt/"initiative" have a whole lot of time on their hands early in the day to blog!
