Good news, the trough at Little Pine Spring is full and ready for those who can find it!
I guess some intrepid bodies made repairs between late summer and now. Cheers to them!

Thanks for the kind write-up, Dan. Not to argue any points, but I would point out the pipe at MPS was there as of last week (see https://picasaweb.google.com/toejamhi...) ... I wonder if it's so loose as to be occasionally removed and set aside? Either way, I've never not seen it there.
Admittedly, the book has its share of typos and nits, for which I intend to post errata on my site.
See you on the trail!

We did the same route last summer and I can understand how easy it would be to lose the route there. It was a hedge of poison oak and blackberry brambles and we had to fight our way through. What a trainwreck.

Glad you made it out alright, Dan.

Nice photos, Dr D. With Cherry Creek closed (legally, anyway) to shooters, coming in from the north during the winter when the road's closed is a nice way to walk the entire Upper North Fork route. For overnighters, Maple camp is a really nice spot, and I've never had to share the camp with others, even in spring/early summer. (Strange, considering how short a distance it is from the end of the road there at Ortega Hill.)
