It's not up to the local authorities to "enforce" immigration law.
The feds need to do their job by picking up illegals who have been identified in the jail and take them away.

I don't know of any socialites in the system but if a drug-addicted alcoholic cleans themself up, attends college , stays clean and gets a good job helping others that is a success of the system.

The Board of Supervisors gave the department a budget and said "live with it."
Dr. D. is doing as instructed and being forward looking in a stale economy.

There is a myth about how welcoming Santa Barbara is to the homeless and mentally ill. They arrive daily by bus from all over the US, sent here by family members hoping to give their relatives a cushy Santa Barbara life.

KinSB, I agree. I am glad that the missing signature controversy was solved. The apology is due the writer by the one who made the mistake and was already done.
If I every write such a hateful letter to the editor I will sign it with my real name too.
