On More Bush than Bush

Right on Bill Clausen. Our prez is planner, judge, and executioner all in one. The administration's excuses barely qualify as legal. The number of innocent victims greatly outnumbers the supposed terrorists killed. So far almost 200 children have been murdered.

Drones are the next generation kiss of death used for many victims. (Zero US casualties is the rationale cited). The Veterans for Peace have a drone model on display at Arlington West at Stearn's Wharf on the first Sunday of each month. Check it out for more information on US drone attacks - your government is responsible for these attacks. And coming soon to a city near you, drones, sometimes as small as a mosquito, used for monitoring US citizens.

I'm sorry you feel unsafe. That must be awful to feel like that at such a young age.

The problem is not so much with the Israeli people, as it is with the Israeli government. Israel is based on a lie, as is the United States. We stole the land from the natives, and Israel stole the land from the Palestines, and they continue to steal to this day. We used the lame excuse of manifest destiny, and Israel used the excuse of divine will. As long as they continue to occupy the Palestinian land, there will be uproar, no matter how "generous" the Israeli government is.

Totally agree with you on your last point, Alex. How about some shots of blown-up babies and children, and the tortured faces of their parents? As usual, the innocent are the ones that suffer the most. According to a 2001 study by the International Committee of the Red Cross, the civilian-to-soldier death ratio in wars fought since the mid-20th century has been 10:1, meaning ten civilian deaths for every soldier death.

Babatunde you were always there for me. We didn't just talk to each other - it was soul-to-soul. I'll miss you so much!

Kudos to the Veterans for Peace for holding up so many years during the Iraq war. Unfortunately, our government continues to invade country after country, and the memorials have to adjust to the times. I am just glad that the memorial continues, so that people can be aware of the terrible cost to the peoples of this world.

Yay! to the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara for such a wonderful addition to our beautiful city! Public housing has never looked so good, and one that is solely dedicated to the homeless is incredible!

Hellooo?? Remember why Brits (us) moved to the New World? To escape religious prosecution, 'cause according to King George it was his church or none. We moved here so we could practice our religion(s). So what right do we have to deny the Muslims their right to religious freedom?

On Obama's Manhattan mosque endorsement: “...our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable.”

For a homegrown look at the human cost of war (Iraq, Afghanistan, and stay tuned for the next war of the day), see our demonstration at Stearn's Wharf on Memorial Day, May 31st (www.vfpsb.org).
