Being an American student living in Hiroshima in 1950 while the city was still hot, I am especially sensitive to the horrors of war. It has been said that the first victim of war is Truth. Yes, that is a fact. Sadder still is the madness went on and on through Viet Nam and on to this day as we repeat this trial over and over again...it is like we are incapable of stopping this insanity. I was sure we would learn from our experiences but not to be. I am now 70 years-old and have only seen things get worse. There is no hope. IEDs, Daisy Cutters and waterboarding in 2008..what 'th? There will be more trials..I wonder who will be hanged this time?
