I think that Lois Capps, who stated; "Yesterday—at the same location as the infamous 1969 oil spill nearly 40 years ago—we had yet another painful reminder that drilling for oil is a dirty and dangerous business," and Pedro Nava; "This spill is another reminder that the calls for increased drilling in our coastal waters are short-sighted and unnecessary," have said it all. THIS is exactly why we fight to get these oil drills closed, once and for all! And thank you izenstat for another reminder why we shouldn't drill in Alaska.

We must find an alternate form of energy, SOON!

Wow, that was an interesting read. I'm always fascinated to get more details about our local catastrophe (no disrespect to those who think this is an understatement). However, I have to admit that I like the comments banter best! Although I do take umbrage at the "non-native" remark by lordleadbetter. If this town was only made up of "natives", it would be half dead by now! Some of us transplants actually believe in this town and what it represents.
