I cannot believe that no one has seen the obvious surname switch for Van Swinkle -- it's Van Swindle!

For the second time, this year, those of us who live in the Hollister/Turnpike area have had to put up with the ceaseless droning of Police heliocopters, for hours on end! Psychologically, this has an effect on the populace, intended or not! It also begs the question: Could the taxpayers money be better spent, in a time of economic downturn, on some other way of determining the whereabouts of a supposed fugitive? Are we already living in a totalitarian regime? All the statistics I read, in this comments section required a lot of internet searching, on the part of a few people, to support their point of view. It seems to me that they were missing the point, as did Law Enforcement, in their zeal to find one young person. There has to be a better way of dealing with this kind of situation, now doesn't there? I totally support the Law; let's find a better way of enforcing it, before civilization becomes extinct!

I heard Lois Capps on the Nick and Paul show immediately react negatively to a Single Payer proposal, when asked by Nick. I also heard from a potential attendee, at the aforementioned forum, who could not get in, that people were walking alongside the line, striking up conversations with the people, in the line; it seemed to this person that they were trying to influence opinion, outside the forum. One has to keep one's wits about them, in an open society, when one decides to attempt to attend such a forum, now doesn't one? I would expect that those people trying to influence opinion, in this manner would probably be the kind of person who would do what the photos showed those contractors doing, in Afghanistan; the pictures speak for themselves

The cove at Serena was one of my favorite surf spots, in the late 60s and early 70s. When Rincon was pumping a big swell, Serena Cove would offer long lines, with no crowds! I think it is pretty inaccessible, now, because of the privacy needs of the rich!

I used to live in that neighborhood; the increased traffic and noise, that will begin to happen, whilst the project is being constructed, will be hideous and the increased traffic, afterwards, will be compounded, as well! This is really a transparent travesty!

The News Press can do anything it wants to, in the commercial printing field, because it has a state of the art printing facility! It can buy up shopper papers, sell them, buy more, put copy on the Net and not print anything. If it takes fewer people to do that and the owner wants to control editorial direction, then they can do that , too! I guess we all have to get used to that in this era of greed!

Does anyone remember the era of politics under the aegis of such people as Don Macgillivray(spelling mine)? This was the era when the Crosstown Freeway was the talk of the circuit and Pearl Chase was a liberal leader. Things have certainly changed; this was probably before Van Swindle was out of diapers!
