"...PODER, who argued the injunction wasn’t warranted by existing crime rates..."
Remember when the gang injunction was introduced the crime rate was higher than it is now. In fact I was very concerned about the regular stabbings that were occurring both on the Eastside, Westside AND just off of State Street.
Since then the crime rate has gone down. Maybe a get tough stance isn't a bad thing?

It would have been so much more fun to make that nomination after Peter Adam took office.

Hopefully the landlord will read this. And I'm not even a lawyer.

I wish she hadn't given up. Those neighbors could have learned a thing or two. As neighbors I'd take women in recovery over drunk college kids any day of the week.

Really BettyBoop? You can't read Nick's sarcasm? That makes me sad.

So County Executive Chandra Wallar is telling the City how to plan and budget? I seem to remember that the City of Santa Barbara is a much better financial position than the County.

If this tax passes I want libraries back to regular hours, funding for restorative policing and we should rehire some park maintenance staff to clean up our parks. I will go to the City Council and tell them this is what I want (or I will at least send them an email). That's how government works. I think at least 50% of City voters will agree on some reasonable expenditures to make our city cleaner, safer and smarter.

This type of pension reform makes sense to me. Employees paying their fair share in order to save the very system they benefit from is only fair. And I'm willing to tax myself to make sure we have enough money to keep are parks clean and our streets safe. If these initiatives only require 50% I will put $$$ on the fact that they will pass. Thank you Madam Mayor for getting something done.

It looks like Frank has a very good chance at winning when he's up against these Democrats. These Democrats have not been able to elect a full slate in recent SB City Council history.
