Jennifer Granholm is a terrific role model for women and men in leadership positions. It's wonderful that she will be speaking locally. I would love to hear her ideas on how to fix our problems with health care reform.

California has long led the nation in conservation and green energy efforts. What starts here tends to migrate to the rest of the country as proven results demonstrate the value of these efforts and technologies. Fracking our local shale oil is a net negative for California and the environment. We should lead the way in stopping efforts like this and show the rest of the country how to thrive using alternatives.

The commenter, Matthew, talked about the high the cost of alternative energy installation. I have two thought to offer. 1. Has he seen the defense budget? Energy independence and clean energy are a much better use of the same money. 2. With greater investment, more innovation will likely improve the costs and efficiency of alternative, green energy sources.

Yes on all the candidates!
Yes on W and X!
No on the other initiatives -- like most initiatives, they are poorly written and will have unintended/unspecified costs and consequences.

Au contraire, Botany, California's propensity to want everything and pay for nothing is a big part of the problem. Tax reform leading to more tax collected more fairly is a necessity.

This is not hard!

Hannah-Beth is committed to our district and it's people. She is working to increase jobs, fund our schools, and protect our environment. Stoker is sitting back on his heels -- which is a good preview of how he would operate in office. The Hodge-podge of ideas tossed out by Hodge Is falling flat--as it should.

I urge you to vote for Hannah-Beth!

Until we have gender equity in politics, the war on women will continue unchecked at the Federal level and in state houses across the country. Thank you Santa Barbara Women's Political Committee for effective leadership in building a strong contingent of local feminist candidates -- both male and female.
