Editor:
In an article about a Board vote [4-1], leaving out how the votes broke down is a glaring omission.

According to the article, Santa Barbara Dance Arts is being asked to move due to excessive noise, not some assessment of their cultural bone fides. According to SBDA, it is "just not possible for us."
italiansurg, billclausen and Ken_Volok, you fellows should read the articles, then comment, not jump in making comments out of context mixed up with your preconceptions.

RICO statutes are Federal and would require U.S. Attorney prosecution; these trials are being heard in County (State) court.

re: Pini's arrest:
It appears Pini is not only a deceitful and derelict landlord, it seems he has some sick personality defects as well.

I challenge JohnLocke's assertion that "Last I saw there was exactly one Republican on the UCSB faculty..."
What is the source of that statement? I hope it's not David Horowitz. I don't believe the University tracks that sort of personal information, and if a poll has ever been done I'd love to see it.
UCSB has over 1000 faculty members. It is an easy bet that at least 2 of them are Republicans. My guess is very many more than two.
On Dario Pini?

I stand corrected on my charge of 'astroturfing.'
