A lot of the local coffee houses can't afford to operate in SB anymore. The chains with lower costs are the only ones left to fill in the holes on State St and around town.
I'm still a big RoCo fan myself, but Starbucks are just taking over town.

One of the first things i did when I moved to SB was go out on the Double Dolphin to go Whale watching. It was some of the best money I've ever spent. Glad to see they get the recognition they deserve.

I like how Santa Barbara Auto group comes in second, out of a field of 2.
They have some of the worst service I've ever encountered.

I agree with all of these, except for Elements w/ the best Martini.
I am a total martini snob, so I guess if you're idea of a martini is sweet with fruit around the rim, hit up Elements.
If you're looking for a true Vodka or Gin martini, Elements hasn't a clue.

What misleading article...
First off, most "working class" people don't live in Santa Barbara proper, but in places like Ventura or Lompoc (etc) and make the commute into town. This is well known.
Second, there are many companies who shut down in the south county, whose former employees are filing for unemployment benefits in their local areas, hence not reflecting upon SB.
Lastly, there are no new jobs in the SB area, so people having moved out of the area to find work. The companies showing up for this meeting were the ones still left in business, and don't represent the thousands of out of work people and the hundreds of businesses they used to work for.
Remember, the stats show that hardly 3% of the people who actually work in SB can afford to live there. Where are those stats? I think if they were included, these numbers would reflect something different.

So some people figure they can use the bait and switch tactic and take the focus away from the main issue.
Attacking Dr.Bearmen for what he believes isn't the topic of this article. Don't take your kids to see him then. It's a free country. The fact is he is saying we need to consider this, and look into it. But as it was pointed out, the government doesn't allow this to happen.
How about the US Government lets doctors and hospitals do tests and find out for 100% sure what the benefits and risks are?
And lets recall why marijuana was originally banned: It was racism, pure and simple. It was racism against blacks and Mexican immigrants. It had nothing to do AT ALL with the plant itself.
I'd rather do my time researching this topic rather then doing what churches do, and trying to circumvent logic and reasoning to convince people their believes are wrong, rather that why you're a right.

Dr.Bearman has years of evidence, studies and his own experiences to back him up. It's not a secret anymore.
What cazador is saying is like saying writing an article saying beer gets you drunk, without quoting any studies, makes it false.
It's not nearly as bad as alcohol, tobacco, Rx drugs, and even caffeine. The old false claims of it being a gateway drug have long since been disproved.
If cazador was truly informed, he/she would know the ban on Marijuana came as a result of racism, and had nothing to do with it's actual effects.

Having lived in Concord, and now here in SB, that's a great story to read.

The current track is for BMX bicycles, this is for BMX motorcycles. Did the person who wrote this do ANY research at all?
I'd rather give bikes a place to go then have them tearing up our state parks and beaches. Isn't that why Santa Barbara built that skate park next to the wharf?
And ya, that land was a partial landfill. I think it's great it's being put to good use to give people something else to do with SB. Too bad about this misguided article smearing a good idea...
