Mallory did not run into the road that horrid night; she and her friends crossed at the intersection in a LEGAL crosswalk. If you drink and get behind the wheel it doesn't matter WHAT happens, or even if you cause a problem; the truth is you are in the WRONG when you drive under the influence! Karma's a bee-atch!💋

The truth is that kids say it like it is! Then it's up to the adults to gently correct behavior and talk that hurts feelings, lacks compassion etc. WHY DID CERTAIN STAFF NEGLECT THEIR DUTY - as per the mother's request - to keep the diapers private, " secret" if you will? It is obvious to anyone working in the elementary grades that something like this would be enormously important to the other kids, and that there would definitely be a negative reaction from other students. Being a " big boy" and NOT wearing diapers is a huge part of the growing up process. This poor kid has to endure the diapers due to a bodily function he cannot control. The least the adults could have done was help him with something he COULD control: who knew about it.
Having said all this I DON'T agree that suing the school will DO anything - how does this help the kid? Will money stop the kids saying mean things? Will it perhaps pay mom's lawyer? Will it " teach" Roosevelt a lesson? I think this publicity will teach the school and school district a lesson; no money should change hands. Put the boy over at Adams or Peabody, or Franklin and the Superintendent should write a letter for ALL. Schools reiterating the bullying policies and the expectations we taxpayers can reasonably have of our teachers. Boy! Times have changed; bullying hasn't.

Paula I hope you see this: Thank you for having the guts to speak up about this disease. By so publicly battling your demons you are highlighting the truth that alcoholism is an illness that can hit all kinds of people. No-one is exempt. Thanks for standing up and being counted, Paula. Despite what you read on these comments there are many of us who will watch your progress because we care and want you to win this fight. We wish the best for you and your husband. Thank you

it's been over a year and I am only now reading this. Having seen Jack this weekend reminds me of Libbey and I realize what a special person he is. What a dignity he carries, through what much surely be a life that is painfully missing a piece. Libbey is OK, wherever she is, and somehow I can't help feeling that she is with Jack every step of his ascent.

Seems to me to be pretty clear: court was in recess, no matter what Daryl said, or how he said it, it just CAN NOT be considered contempt of court simply because the judge had already ordeted a lunch recess. Seems that the " lady" 'in question was trying to provoke - based on her loud sighing and bored/ irritated demeanour. This comment directed at her behavior was exactly what she needed to provoke even more. Shame that the judge went for it...
I agree that Mr Genis is well-known for bluntly speaking his mind- and for standing behind his remarks. He has never demonstrated a reluctance to apologize if he feels it's warranted; he just does not seem to be the type for a disingenuous apology. He would rather refrain from apologising altogether.

Dr Dan mentions that Principal Kingston fled from her job at Harding early - well that"s what she always does! Over the past 15 years she's been all over the place, in all kinds of positions in local school districts. She never seems to last more than 3 years at any of them.
