I loved the Natalie Cole concert! I thought the mix of music was perfect.

As for the old geezers leaving late. Many of the people that came to that concert were there to see the newly remodeled Granada and to be seen. People were way over dressed. I spent the first few minutes of the concert helping some woman locate her diamond watch that had falling off her wrist. The couple to the left of me had a special card waiting for them on their seats when they arrived - what was that all about? The lady on the other side of me, who wasn't much older than me, plugged her ears because she thought the music was too loud. It all made me laugh! This is Santa Barbara, the place that I have lived for the past 20 years, so you would think that I would be use to it by now. But, I have never seen so many stuffy individuals, who don't know how to have a good time. I consider myself to be upper class on the money chain, but this was embarrassing.

It's about time these out-of-district transfers stop!! Our schools in the Santa Barbara area are so segregated because of this practice. This white flight has got to end! It serves no purpose. Our children will do better in diverse learning environments.

The "underfunded" and so called "underperforming" schools in the SBSD would thrive if these fleeing parents would put their energies and money in to their neighborhood schools.

It does not surprise me that Laura's son would act out in this way. I have listened to her radio program from time to time while driving in my car. (I travel for my work) She has a tendency to blame the victims of rape and child abuse. The women were raped because they "dressed like sluts." I have turned her show off in disgust when she expresses "amazement" that a child kept silent about a sexual abuse, instead of being shocked by what the abuser did. There is little sympathy in her reaction to these types of abuses on women and children. I could see how her son would get a distorted view about these issues because her feelings on these things are distorted and outdated.
