It's great to see Tom having success at his chosen trade! That he has excelled at for many years and was a factor in the old News Press being an award winning news paper. Those days are gone sadly but we have the Independent as a reliable source of information. Despite some complaints from people like Woo Woo,

Thanks William Smithers, I never knew Private Bradley Manning was tortured? That should be a breaking news story don’t you think? It has never before been exposed that he was tortured in prison.
As for “ What Would Washington, Adams, and Madison Say?” let’s ask Benedict Arnold and the people like him accused and executed for treason. Washington and Madison would say off with their heads! Not sure about Adams if you mean Samuel probably the same, if you mean John maybe not?
If Washington had drone missiles he would have used them for sure! it was a fight for life! They fought terror with terror as was the common practice. The Tories who favored a union with England were tortured terrorized and driven into Canada, back to England or total submission and silence if they dared to stay here.
Spy's have been used since Moses?

Charlie Mingus lives on! The Mingus Big Band celebrates the music of composer/bassist Charles Mingus, who died in 1979. Under the artistic direction of Sue Mingus, this 14-piece band performed Thursday nights from 1991 to 2004 at Fez under Time Cafe in New York City. It maintained weekly residencies in the city from May 2004 until October 2008, when it began “Mingus Mondays” at Jazz Standard where it alternates with the Mingus Orchestra and Mingus Dynasty.

The Mingus Big Band tours extensively in the United States and abroad, and has ten recordings to its credit, seven of which have been nominated for Grammys.

Bravo! I also have never purchased a pass but have never had a ticket. Glad that finally an unjust fee for the use of public land is ignored!

This is a Spring Airsoft Pistol, which means it's powered by a spring and must be cocked for each shot. It's fast, clean, inexpensive and easily maintained; it requires no gas or batteries to operate. Also, Spring Airsoft Guns are the toughest, most durable of all Airsoft Guns, because they're made with few breakable pieces. If you're looking for a fun, reliable Airsoft Pistol that'll look great and perform even better, you've come to the right place. You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase this Airsoft gun.
I suppose hoping that one would be mature enough to have some common sense?

When did we choose to pay starting teachers less than people that haul garbage? Don't get me wrong refuse disposal is very important! but so is the education of our children perhaps even more important than garbage?
A teacher must spend years in college and thousands of dollars to be certified as a tacher. It is a profession that we choose to think of as a service job like a city worker! Teachers are a dedicated bunch willing to earn less that they could working in the private sector because of their desire to educate and foster our youth. Support your Teachers!
Just try to pay the garbage people less and see what kind of cooperation you'd get?

Jeff who is paying for all this? Give the people that pay a break! People that fail to prepare properly and end up costing the residents of Santa Barbara money for their rescue should be appropriately billed
