In tune with last week’s National Trails Day, Los Padres ForestWatch published a report on the “Ten Lost Trails of the Los Padres,” calling attention to historic routes that have been shut off, most often by private landowners wishing to keep hikers off their lands. The trails include the Matilija in Ojai, Agua Blanca and Pothole in Piru, and Rocky Ridge and Bull Ridge in Cuyama, but success stories are also marked for trails that are opening up again, such as Hot Springs in Montecito, the Franklin in Carpinteria, and DeAngulo in Big Sur.
