Graceful! So rare and nice to see some grace in politics.

As a career counselor, I love to see when people do what they seem made to do. Margerum's love of food & wine has launched a thousand dishes. Time to start saving up now so that future Wine Cask dishes are placed on a welcome table between me and my food-appreciating wife.

Spirited comments! I would be curious to see the garages of the homes in this area. Are they full of stuff? Have they been converted into living space? If it's like my neighborhood in the 93111, every garage seems to now store junk and cars end up out in the street.
I tend to be a "collector" myself, but we cut back to one car plus a cargo bicycle and we can even (with a little shuffling of bicycles) have our guests park in the garage. As a nearly full-time cyclist, I would love to see more clean and safe streets. This looks like a good opportunity to make foothill safer. Good luck!

I have no idea how Ray finds the resources, access, and energy to file these reports but I am very grateful for them. I will never forget an adventure I went on that was led by Ray about 15 years ago. He's now leading thousands of us on a serious and important adventure as stands near the fiery mouth of the big, scary dragon. Thanks Ray and thank you Indy!

This last story on the DARE vehicle really rankles me.
First, there are a number of studies that challenge the success of DARE programs. Here's one:

But what REALLY surprises me is the deployment of a giant, gasoline-addicted Dodge Charger as some sort of mascot for the DARE program. Yikes! How about some bicycles? Skateboards? Surfboards?
I vote that the Dodge be auctioned off and the money spent on healthier ways to give good messages to our kids.

Good Neighbors,
I'm pretty sure that there is an alternative plan involving some more phones on this bridge and some stepped-up monitoring? I think the fence is not the best solution. The argument by the person writing as "sevendophins" makes a compelling point about protecting 1st responders. But if I worried about the risks taken, every day, but our police, firefighters, and other responders, I'd go crazy with worry.
In my view, the best solution to reducing suicides in our county is far more organic than the structure proposed. It's about keeping the funding focused on our mental health community.

Riding bikes, especially for our children, increases in safety as more folks figure out the joy and utility of riding. More bikes and pedestrians = more safety for all. Each person choosing a bike or a car makes our home a better place to live.
Kudos to Ralph Fertig for rounded up these stats.
