Wow!
You mean it's not OK to run red lights? Somebody better tell SB drivers because they never got the memo.
Next thing you know they'll pass a law about using a cell phone while driving.
Remember, speed doesn't kill, sudden deceleration does!

Can I assume that the paint used for the "350.org" stencils on State St. sidewalks is biodegradable?

(Gibbs noted that in contrast to the Granada’s $25 million price tag, Cottage Hospital just built a new designer garage for just $7 million.)
Does anyone remember how the Granada garage came about?
While it was finished long before the theater, was it part of a package deal with the city?
When CLO was in the Granada the old lot seemed to work well enough.

Let me get this straight. Students and staff skip a day of classes and work to protest the cost of their classes and furloughs.
Wouldn't it make more sense to do this during the weekend and not lose one of those costly classes?
Or would that have encroached on their 'free' time as opposed to time paid for by mom and dad or the taxpayers?
Just wondering.

With three kids and an injured husband, Jaimes said, she’s moved twice since being evicted.
This might sound insensitive, but why not leave the area? Just about anywhere is cheaper than SB, so why stay and torture yourself?

While it might be built with private money, how about donating the $2M so that schools could teach arts/music to kids? Skating might be fun, but piquing an interest in the arts could lead to a lifetime of enjoyment. Especially since it looks like the schools will be taking hits. Just a thought.

Anda Ashkar, Sr. Vice President & General council for Sima Corporation, outside the newly renovated San Marcos Building at 1129 State Street
Not to pick at nits here, but shouldn't her title be General Counsel? Just wondering.

Wow, I'm shocked at the hating on SBCC.

You must have missed all the hating on Westmont before the DA announced the kids were from SBCC.

Are we talking about the same newspaper? Let's get real here, folks. I've been in SB since 1975 and the SBNP has never been more than a second rate paper. I used to cringe every time I walked past the building and saw the NY Times name on the wall. Wendy may have made it worse, but they were already approaching bottom.
Stop flattening this cat and let it die out.
Maybe someone will start another daily. Like the Daily Sound?

It's not fair to blame Wendy for the NP being a 3rd rate paper. I've been here since 1975 and the NP has always been an embarrassment.
She made it worse, and she makes a great target, but let's lose the rose colored glasses and admit the NP has sucked for decades, and now it just sucks a little more.
What's wrong with the Daily Sound?
