Police say that they stopped a man who was allegedly committing serial vehicle burglaries around Cliff Drive on September 7. According to police reports, officers arrived at the scene of an auto burglary near the intersection of Cooper Road and Cliff Drive. A witness gave a description of the person who broke into the vehicle and, with that, officers soon after apprehended Christopher Manson, 19, about a block away. The report of the incident noted that Manson was breaking into another car as officers found him.
In all, police are crediting three more vehicle burglaries that happened in the area. Among the items stolen were iPods, a Sirius satellite radio player and other electronic equipment.
Manson was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of burglary, vehicle tampering, and attempted petty theft.

As always, I would like information on the immigration status of the perpetrator. If this was an illegal immigrant, deport him! Any relation to Charles Manson? Was he on probation or parole?

Does it matter what race? What bothers me is why this kid is is stealing, what's really going on, sounds like he needs something productive to do! He probably thinks he is having fun, maybe someone can help him figure out what fun really is. You know logic looses in the face of fun

Ha! You all fell into my trap. I did not say a thing about race, nor did I suggest he was mexican. I said illegal immigrant. Illegal immigrants are of all races and nationalities. What is it about the term "illegal immigrant" that make you automatically assume it is a mexican? Are you going to tell me that all illegal immigrants are hispanic or from Mexico??? You people are so racist!

And what do you man he needs something productive to do? What about all those youth and jobs programs the City is paying for with all of your money in response to the gang problem? Are you suggesting they don't work?

Are you Mexican or are you hispanic? If you are Mexican that means you are a citizen of Mexico, here illegally if not on a work visa. If you are hispanic and a US citizen then you are not Mexican, and you are welcome. My point here is that illegal immigration has nothing to do with race. I have been falsely accused of being racist many times here, simple because I believe in legal, orderly immigration. If an illegal immigrant is from Canada I would feel the same - they should go through the system rather than sneaking across the border. People need to stop associating the immigration issue with race.

And those Mormons you speak of probably had the means for taking care of those kids, and were not single teenage parents, and not having to work two jobs so they could raise them responsibly. How many of those Mormon kids turned out to be gang members RunningCrew?

True you are right i'm hispanic with mexican heritage sorry about that. And its not all about teenage parents and gang members at all. I was never in a gang growing up. But me and my baseball and football buddies would get in trouble and fight every week. You just dont hear about it. The high schools dont want people now that there football team has a bunch of trouble makers that go and get drunk and smoke weed after the game on friday night. Then more of the same on sat. night. would they? And i knew a lot of mormon kids that would jump kids all the time white on brown crime is huge in AZ. All those little bats the gangs carry in SB. The white kids in AZ would carry them. Thats why race has nothing to do with this crap lie you love to think.

I don't know how many times I have to say that I don't think race has anything to do with it either. I do think that national origin and lack of assimilating into the culture has everything to do with it, whether it is whites on browns or browns on whites - it is a clash of cultures, not races. One culture from the origin of Mexico, the other from the origin of the United States.
If illegal immigration were not occurring in such numbers and we did not cater to another culture with bilingualism, etc., and immigrants had to EARN citizenship by learning English and US history and whatever else the requirements are, there would be a lot less of this. So again, the tolerance of illegal immigration is the issue, not race, and I don't blame the illegals, I blame us for allowing it.
I have no issue with you or anyone else being hispanic with Mexican heritage, if you are a legal citizen, nor does your race have anything to do with the gang problem. Why do you tell me that is what I love to think?

Curious - did you have an available mother and father when you were growing up ? Why did you not join a gang? Fighting is one thing and pretty much the norm, but gang membership is quite another.

I think that it's interesting that you guys have nothing better to do than to get online and talk about a young man neither of you know. If you did you would understand that sometimes our decisions aren't the best. Chris is a good kid who made a bad decision. So ease up on the immigration accusations and smack talkin. Find something more productive to do...

Yeah sounds like Chief Sanchez' philosophy - his very words. So what is your definition of a bad kid then? The definition in my mind of a bad kid is one that does bad stuff.

I'm sorry, you're probably right - he's is more likely a good kid with bad parents - ones that never disciplined him for doing bad stuff, or never cared.

They probably believed also that he is a good kid, so they never punished him.
