Santa Barbara Mayor Marty Blum deserves our thanks for her leadership in the fight against global warming. At this week's U.S. Conference of Mayors, Mayor Blum co-sponsored a resolution endorsing stronger energy efficiency standards for homes and buildings across the country. The resolution passed unanimously. If every city in the country adopted stronger building efficiency codes, by 2030 we could save $88 billion on energy costs and prevent as much global warming pollution as taking 4.5 million cars off the road. In taking a stand for energy efficiency, Mayor Blum is making a difference on the national stage -- and helping to create a better future for all of us. Thank you Mayor Blum!
