Santa Barbara Police Release DUI Reports for June 6-9

Checkpoint Scheduled for Tonight as Part of Prevention Program

After the arrests of eight people over this past weekend, Santa Barbara police reiterating the necessity for drivers to drink responsibly and pre-arrange rides home.

Police on Wednesday released the names and details of the arrests. The following people were arrested: Andrew Balazas, 32, on Haley Street on June 6 at 12:01 a.m.; Andrew Smith, 24, on Mountain Avenue on June 7 at 2:40 p.m.; Adan Gutierrez, 35, on North Milpas Street on June 7 at 10 p.m.; Michelle Aros, 29, on De La Vina Street on June 8 at 12:44 a.m.; Cathryn Keyser, 23, on West Cota Street on June 8 at 2:37 a.m.; Daniel Wazny, 23, on West Gutierrez Street on June 8 at 4:12 a.m.; Kori Hida, 44, on East Gutierrez Street on June 8 at 8:35 p.m.; Maria Gonzales, 44, on Las Positas Street on June 9 at 1:49 a.m. Balazas and Hida were the only 2 to be kept in custody; as of Wednesday, both were still at S.B. County Jail.

The S.B. Police Department will be conducting DUI checkpoints this Friday, June 13, from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday morning. DUI Enforcement Officers will continue to patrol throughout the weekend.

The cops need to put a DUI checkpoint up by Anacapa and E. Padre. There are LOTS of drunks who live over there.
