Description: Pursuant to CEQA and the California Coastal Act notice is hereby give that University of California, Santa Barbara has extended the comment period from March 21 June 23, 2008 to provide additional time for public comment on the draft Long Range Development Plan and Environmental Impact Report. The project area includes the 1,055-acre campus, located south-west of Goleta. The project is a long-range plan for the campus through 2025 including an additional 5,000 students, 336 additional faculty, 1,440 staff; on-campus housing for the additional faculty, staff and students; 2.5 M GSF of academic and support space, coastal policies and other facility and grounds improvements, such as transportation, parking, and open space improvements.

This Public Hearing is incredibly important, because MASSIVE CHANGES are coming to the campus, including major bikeway alterations such as ELIMINATION of the Pardall bikepath tunnel, through which thousands of pedestrians and bicyclists pass safely under Ocean Road every day.
It may be the last meeting for the general public to comment about UCSB Vision 2025 - the University's Long Range Development Plan. Comments may be made in person at the hearing or submitted in writing. Written comments must be received by 5:00 p.m. PST, June 23rd, 2008.
