Gotta love how few lib-dem Indy readers ride the bus but preach mass transit and tax the daylights out of us build it and pay unions to run it.

Nothing feels as good as symbolism over substance, as long as you can sip latte's out of "fair trade" coffee mug wrapped in a hemp cozy sewn by at-risk latinos while sharing righteous nods that mass-transit is the answer to capitalist induced car-maddness... while you walk to your car!

you've read my other posts, Willy, and I DO ride the cross-town shuttle: at 8 am on Aug. 14 I counted 14 hardworking Latina women riding this shuttle TO WORK. Save the cross-town shuttle. And I bike, don't drink latte's, and do think mass transit is the answer. How about paying more taxes on your illegal motocross deal out there in the Valley?

Are you trying to make the argument that people are not riding the bus, willy? Whether or not they read the Independent or participate in its surveys, people ARE riding the bus, now more than ever. Just because you don't, does that mean that the services should be cut?

The bus is great and I never said anything to the contrary. Just make sure the fare covers the cost AND deregulate it so that anyone can operate a bus line.

The taxes should go to paving the roads, painting them and street lights/signs to provide basic safe and reliable passage for commerce and consumers. No taxes to subsidize union wages and benefits - especially government unions (which the SB bus drivers are not part of).

buses, including the cross-town shuttle, are mass transit, so when you blast the lib-dems cause they "preach mass transit" -- you are indeed saying something negative about "the bus". Try to reread your post. Your Tea Party pizzle about "taxes only for roads etc." shows you belong to the 1% to 5% and care only for your snobbish elite class. Oh yeah, and we all know about those ueber-libertarian ranchers out in the SYV.
