I grew up playing ping pong outdoors, often despite the wind.

I predict it will be used for Beer Pong after the bars close.

The library should keep premises clean and give the existing walls around the perimeter a fresh paint job.

They should also stop wasting water by decreasing the main fountain's water pressure, currently splattering surrounding area in the courtyard.

This only serves to prohibit people from sitting on the water fountain ledge, or from allowing people to congregate in its foyer in a functional manner.

The water itself is reclaimed, disgusting, ultimately unsightly and potentially health risk for children; especially if water maintenance resembles anything like the eroding walls seen that require spackeling and polish.

Also, there's room for gardening and landscape horticulture.

If library staff hired gardners rather than "security guards" - maybe these, "security gardners" could chaperone area without giving everybody bunny.. you know, having guys dressed up like fascists - broadcasting to the public and tourists alike - that there's some sort of a social problem requiring totalitarian strategies in their occupational goals.

So, if there's still money to spend, maybe they should install a giant chess board with life size pieces instead of some concrete ping pong table.

This is clearly a no brainer! Let's encourage gathering nodes like this that promote more interaction in public places. Have seen it work in other places and am seeing a great tournament on the horizon!
