The numbers saying to leave Right to Health Care Act alone restore my faith a little in Santa Barbarians. Maybe we haven't been overrun wiith outsiders yet.

Interesting, and quite telling, that 'work together' came in a distant second here. And really sad about the 52 'tear apart'. An example in microcosm of what is tearing apart this country.

Hmmm, SS, how long does one have to live in SB b4 one is no longer an "outsider"? Are UCSB students "outsiders"? If so, maybe they shouldn't be allowed to vote here. But then that would be very inconvenient for those of the so-called progressive persuasion. Maybe it's just those with a view different than yours who are "outsiders". I understand that is Kim Jung Il's worldview also.

And I'm wondering if you paid any attention to the most recent national election? California is out of step in a big way and the only way it is leading the country is into financial disaster.

As Bill Kristol, the GOP's prissy, churlish and always spiteful titular head once averred, "Americans don't deserve health care."

That's it in a nutshell, really. Republicans can't imagine their country being capable of enjoying the societal benefits that most of the rest of the civilized world takes for granted. Any nation that will gladly drive themselves into the poorhouse with trillions of dollars in war debt and willfully allow bloated corpses to float merrily down the streets of a major metropolitan city has truly lost its soul and has no claim to greatness.
