The Lompoc Housing and Community Development Corporation — in full meltdown mode — gave only four days’ notice before shutting down Lompoc’s two homeless shelters on the eve of the Martin Luther King Jr. three-day weekend. One has since reopened, but the fate of this one — the Bridgehouse Homeless Shelter, with a 56-bed capacity — remains very much up in the air.
