Beth passed away in her beloved Santa Barbara on May 8th 2012 where she was born and raised.

She was born May 17th 1965 to Linda Layne Hidalgo and Richard Leon Hidalgo.

She was a 6th generation Californian.

She graduated from El Puente High School in 1983 and worked as an activity director for Beverly La Cumbre until 1997 when she started her family.

Beth had such a big heart, a tremendous sense of humor coupled with a compassionate and giving nature. Everybody who came across her was uplifted by the experience and was left longing for more of her company.

Beth was the loving mother of three wonderful children; Samantha, scout and Caleb. She cared so deeply about them and there was always a sparkle and a tear in her eye when she spoke of them, which she did often.

The love between Beth and her sister Laurie was immense. They were the best of friends and complemented each other perfectly.

There was a deep bond between herself and her nieces Ashley and Katie, at each family reunion they always looked forward to confiding in and receiving advice from Auntie Beth.

Beth was deeply religious with a sincere love of God. She always kept an open mind and was not judgmental of others.

She cared for the underdog deeply and while both witty and cutting was generous to a fault. She enjoyed helping those less fortunate than herself. She loved birthdays, Christmas, music and enjoyed life to the fullest.

She will be sorely missed and is survived by her sister Laurie Hidalgo, her three children Samantha, Scout and Caleb, her two nieces Ashley and Katie, her ex-husbands John Zito and Pierre Delvaux and all her friends and family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday May 18th at 12:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 305 East Anapamu St. Gravesite services will be at the Goleta Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

A celebration of Beth’s life will be held at the clubhouse in San Antonio Village, 39 North San Marcos Road at 3:00pm. All friends of Beth and her family are welcome.
