He grew up an avid hockey and baseball player in So. Weymouth, MA and graduated with a BA in business administration and a BS in accounting from Northeastern University. He also enjoyed tennis, golf, gardening, tending his avocado, orange, and lemon orchard, and attending musical and opera performances. He and his wife, Mary Ann, celebrated life through world travel by visiting many wonderful and exotic places including Africa, the South Pacific, Europe and South America.

A loving, proud and gentle husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Jordan; Gail Tucker, former wife and mother of his three daughters, Christina Johnson (partner David Clark, grandchildren Eko Myers, Tiu Myers, Sunny Martinez, great grandson Ean Myers), Bonnie Murphy (husband Steve Murphy, grandson Finn) and Lisa Christian (granddaughter Rose Christian and step grandchildren Terra Christian and Ira Christian); and his step daughters Andrea Lommen (husband Steve Carlson, step granddaughters Rose and Xyla) and Kate Lommen Hickey (husband Peter Hickey and step granddaughter Adelaide).
