Sandie was an inspirational woman. As her daughter, I have often heard throughout my life how she touched somebody’s life with just one interaction, or how she inspired great changes in her friends and the people around her. She was by nature a teacher and leader.

My mom had a sense about her that made her recognize the justice in every situation, she spoke up very easily for those around her if they needed her to and never minded being the voice of reason. Everybody that knew her would agree with me when I say she was an amazing human being.

Sandie was of course a fabulous mom, and a wonderful wife to my dad, Tim. She was more than just a mom to my brother Seth and I, and more than just a wife to my dad. She was our great friend and I don’t think we will ever get used to her absence.

We feel blessed to have had her in our lives and take with us all the things she so easily taught us to make it through life without her. Her involvement in her community of Carpinteria and in Fair Trade has made an impact in the world and in that way her spirit lives on.
