Naomi Aldine King

1918 - 2008, Santa Barbara

Naomi Adline King

Naomi Aldine King, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 1st 2008. She was born in Norman, Oklahoma on June 9th, 1918, and lived the majority of her life in the Goleta/Santa Barbara area until her death from cutaneous lymphoma.

In her career she worked 45 years as a senior electric motor winder for the defense industry, starting at Western Design corporation on the old Goleta airport in the 1950s; she retired at age 73 from the Electro Kinetics Company in Santa Barbara. In all of her working career she was respected by her co-workers and had maintained many friendships after her retirement.

At work she was known as the blood-drive lady, personally donating many gallons of her own blood to the Tri Counties Blood Bank. She became a member of the 100 gallon club before her retirement. Naomi was the charter founder of the first Cub Scout Pack, Pack 1, in Goleta, at Goleta Union School under then Principal Ian Cook.

Graveside services were held at Goleta Valley Cemetery on Monday, May 5th at 11 AM. She is survived by sons William and Albert C. Neubert, their wives June Standley and Janette Neubert, 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Arrangements by Welch-Ryce-Haider.
