Debra Alice Stanbro, born September 9, 1956, passed away January 8, 2008 in Santa Barbara, CA.

She was a resident of Santa Barbara, CA; however, she was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She was a member of the band Debris (also including Kim Hoytt, Bill Hoyt and Don Wilson) which wrote and performed the music for the awarding winning film Mississippi Son (a documentry on Hurrican Katrina.) She loved to hike, bicycle, run,and fish, and she had a deep spirituality and faith in God. She leaves behind many loving friends and family, both in Santa Barbara, and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

She is preceded in death by her father Dennis Charles Stanbro; her paternal grandparents, Norman A. Stanbro and Hazel G. Stanbro, Hanna Pozzi, and her maternal grandparents, Frank and Alice Burnett.)

She is survived by her mother, Phyllis Whitney; her brothers, Norman and wife Marie, and Gene Stanbro; her nieces and nephews, Norman, Dennis and his wife Stacy, Natalie, and Susan Stanbro, Tammie Bean and Wendie Webster and her husband John; and her life-partner, Kat Carter.
