Henry Adams

Born in Alberta, Canada, longtime Santa Barbara resident, Henry Adams passed away at home after a brief illness at the age of 56.
He was raised in Southern California and studied at UCSB, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Brother, friend, and lover; wicked, witty, and sweet: He is irreplaceable.
Smoky card games with the boys (only the bad, the beautiful, and the funny ones were allowed to play) heartfelt conversations deep in the night, we miss his company.
Henry was an avid observer of human nature, and loved to travel. Some of his favorite places were Paris, anywhere tropical, especially Mexico with her intrinsic antiquities, and humorous artistic eccentricities.
At home in Santa Barbara, he kept his tiny, lush and extravagant garden flourishing with secrets he learned while living in Hawaii, or on one of his many journeys.
This quote from Anais Nin was found on the back of a Celtic “Welcome” plaque displayed amongst his plants and treasures: “Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born, until they arrive.”
Henry was predeceased by his parents: Henry Richard Adams and Marion Helen Haley Adams. He is survived by his sister Linda Anne Adams Guidotti of SB, his brother, Howard Richard Adams of San Clemente, CA and many friends.
Special thanks to Jaime and Clevla at Cottage Hospital, 4 East for their kindness and good nursing care.
A gathering was held at Café del Sol, and Henry’s ashes were scattered privately. Arrangements by Welch/Ryce/Haider.
