Two weeks away from the November 4 election, in the contest to represent the 24th District in the House of Representatives, the latest campaign finance reports indicate incumbent Representative Lois Capps has received more than $2 million in contributions while her Republican opponent Chris Mitchum has received just under $150,000. Capps chipped in none of her own money while Mitchum loaned himself $212,000. Mitchum has about $330,000 in debt while Capps has none.

Capps received just over $390,000 from July through September, with about $243,000 coming from individual donors. Mitchum has received just over $95,000 in the last three months with all but $70 coming from individuals. Capps spent about $412,000 in the three-month time frame while Mitchum has spent $50,950.
