The Goleta City Council voted this week to enact temporary permit-only parking for certain neighbors over the upcoming Halloween weekend. The program — starting at noon on Friday, October 31 and running through 6 a.m. on Sunday, November 2 — will affect streets that run west to east from Cannon Green Drive to Storke Road and north to south from Hollister Avenue to Whittier Drive. Only cars with city-issued permits will be allowed to park on those streets; cars without permits will be towed. City spokesperson Valerie Kushnerov said residents will soon be provided with further details on the permits, which will be free.

City staff and authorities are also set to host a community meeting regarding Halloween on October 16 at 6 p.m. at council headquarters at 130 Cremona Drive.
