Framing for the new 7-11 and Subway locations was recently erected.

Construction is well underway on a 7-11 and a Subway slated for the corner of State and Mission streets. The convenience giants will open their doors at 1936 State Street this winter, with 7-11 expected to begin selling Slurpees before year’s end, and Subway serving sandwiches by February or March 2015. Rob Deery of developer Cadence Capital Investment said the Subway will feature an upgraded interior, “one of the newer concepts that they are designing.” The stucco building-to-be will fit in with Santa Barbara’s Spanish-Moorish architecture, he said.
